Why Men Love being SINGLE

Marriage automatically translates into a legal binding and loss of freedom. No wonder, they are commitment-phobic

The word commitment can make the sanest of men shudder and the mention of marriage is enough to drive a man out of a relationship in a jiffy. So what is it about this social institution that has men break into a sweat?

“Commitment for men is a oneway street towards marriage and the thought of being married to a person for the rest of his life is scary for s guy. It’s not so much commitment phobia, but marriage phobia that affects them. Once commitment is on the table, marriage is an impending side dish. So no matter how much evidence you provide to the contrary, commitment can seem to be too binding for men,” says psychologist Dr Varkha Chulani.

For most men, the first thing that strikes them when they think of commitment is loss of freedom. The thought that they may lose the independence of being able to do what they want, scares them.

Fashion designer Rocky S. says, “It is a liberating experience to grow out of our parent’s protection. Single men love knowing that they have their own domain to themselves. They can go home when they want, stay up late as long as they like and leave their room in a mess. Anything goes. And the thought of commitment threatens this freedom.” Actor Rahul Bose couldn’t agree more. “Women tell men to do exact- ly the same things they thought they grew out off. Marriage, to men, rep- resents a legally binding contract that states we have to obey a dictum. No wonder marriage scares us, it’s reality. It’s the world telling us to grow up. It is the same thing that the world told us when we were kids, but then we had to listen,” he exclaims.

Furious mum 'kicked man's head like a football'

A woman kicked a man's head like a football after becoming incensed when he fell down a staircase with his baby daughter in his arms, a court heard today.

Jayne Poole, 22, drunkenly rowed with Gary White, 33, moments before he went to comfort his crying 19-month old daughter at a house in Fir Street, Patricroft, Salford, Manchester Crown Court was told.

Poole had been out drinking before going back to the house with her boyfriend and the victim's partner on the afternoon of July 3 last year.

White slipped down the stairs but the baby was not harmed. However, Poole dragged him outside and threw him on the ground, punching and kicking him.

He got up but Poole followed him and, after finding him sitting on a kerb, punched him in the face and kicked his head with such ferocity that her trainers split.

White was left unconscious and taken to Hope Hospital, but discharged himself two days later. He was readmitted to hospital later that night after suffering headaches and died two days later.

A post-mortem examination revealed he died as a result of developing blood clots and bruising on the brain and a depressed fracture of the skull.

Poole, of Tooley House, Eccles, Salford, was convicted of murder following a trial at Manchester Crown Court. She was sentenced today to a minimum of 12 years in prison.

Girl gets salpped on wrist, Boy gets slaped in jail

A 17-year-old Sheboygan girl was charged Thursday with misdemeanor sexual assault for allegedly having sex with her 14-year-old boyfriend.

Norma J. Guthrie, of 1034-A Michigan Ave., was in court a day after a 17-year-old Sheboygan boy was charged with a felony for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girlfriend.

Guthrie admitted having sex with the boy between 10 and 15 times, according to a complaint charging her with fourth-degree sexual assault. She faces a maximum of nine months in jail, if convicted.

Police began investigating when the boy's mother reported he might be staying overnight at Guthrie's house, the complaint said. Guthrie told police the boy had claimed to be 16.

On Wednesday, Alan J. Jepsen, 17, of 1416 New York Ave., was charged for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl who he claimed told him she was 16. Jepsen is facing a count of felony second-degree sexual assault, which carries a maximum prison term of 25 years.

The girl, who may be pregnant, had run away from home and was staying with Jepsen, a complaint said.

Assistant District Attorney Jim Haasch, who filed both complaints, said the misdemeanor charge was filed in part because Guthrie has no prior criminal record. But online court records show Guthrie has a pending charge of misdemeanor battery, filed in October.

Haasch would not say whether Jepsen has a prior juvenile record — which is typically sealed — but the boy has no adult charges listed in online court records.

Haasch also said the cases are different because Guthrie's boyfriend is "almost 15," with a birthday in February. Jepsen's girlfriend turns 15 in April.

Jepsen is in jail in lieu of a $1,000 cash bond, while Guthrie was released on a $1,000 signature bond after her initial court appearance Thursday, jail officials said.

Both Guthrie and Jepsen were charged as adults. All suspects age 17 and older are charged as adults by default in Wisconsin, though they can seek a waiver into juvenile court.

Advice in womens Magazines

Article here. Excerpt:

'Peruse any magazine rack and various Web sites and you’ll see headlines such as these splattered all over. Inside you’ll read article upon article about how women can decode, seduce, corral, turn on, and coerce men.

One is left to believe that men don’t want to be married or in any sort of committed relationship, men don’t want to treat women well, men don’t want families, men don’t want to settle down, and worst of all, men don’t even have the desire or the ability to communicate any of this about themselves. Good thing we smell so good.

I happen to know women who don’t want to be married and/or in a serious relationship. I know women who aren’t the articulate, clear communicators they’re supposed to be. I know women who aren’t that into kids and don’t want a family.

So pardon my frustration, and other men’s, when we read articles portraying us as the incapable, the insincere, and the incompetent gender.'

Female-on-male violence is Fun

And who better to remind us than Britney Spears? Her latest music video features tie-grabbing and that old favorite, crotch-kicking by none other than America's favorite crotch flasher herself. View it here. And lest anyone not get the message, check the glee with which the crotch-kicking is greeted by audience members. You go, girl!

But Good Morning America and Diane Sawyer are down with the program too. Sawyer loves it so much she opens the show gushing over the DV promotion. Not even a hint of disapproval.

How's that guys? A good way to start the day?

And while I'm asking, let me ask this too: Do feminists ever condemn this stuff? They've preached the evils of DV for decades, so what's NOW's take on depictions of female-on-male DV? Or any other feminist organization's for that matter. Inquiring minds want to know.
